One of the most famous chili cookoffs went down in 1967 when a NY writer and a Dallas reporter declared open chili warfare over the beans/no beans debate. The cookoff ended in a tie when the final judge spit out the last bite and declared his tastebuds "ruint." Fifty years later, we're firing it up at the Pint Size Park for our annual Chili Cookoff. Join us on September 23, from 2pm-8pm for an amazing chili time. Tickets are $10 at the door and include all-you-can-eat chili from the best chili chefs in the area. Plus, there will be live music from Time Peace and Kyle Baker (4pm-7pm), a bouncy house and backyard games, plus BBQ food, brews and fun for all. Rain or shine. Proceeds benefit the Tri-State Troopers Fund, which aids the families of fallen heroes.
Open for Breakfast!
Big news... Barley Creek is now open for breakfast! The Morning Toast at Barley Creek features eggs, crepes, specialty benedicts, smoothies, freshly-squeezed juices, and more. Breakfast is served daily from 8:01am to 11:01am. By the way, it's called the Morning Toast for a reason: the bar is open for Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and other breakfast cocktails. Yes, that includes beer.
Pint Size Park Off-Season Hours
It's been an amazing summer at the Pint Size Park, but now that Labor Day has passed, the Park will be open for special events only, weather permitting. We'll continue doing Harley Bike Nights on the first and third Wednesday in September (and possibly in October, if the weather holds). That's September 6 and September 20, from 4pm-9pm, with live music starting at 6pm. The Pint Size Park will also be open for the Chili Cook Off on September 23. Cheers!
